Trigger warnings for torture, sexual violence and brainwashing

Dominic is an OC from the David Bowie Diamond Dogs material with filler from 1984 and some other referenced materials in the music.

Bowie's Description of the Diamond dogs:
"They were all little Johnny Rottens and Sid Viciouses really. And, in my mind there was no means of transport.. So there were these gangs of squeaking, roller-skating, vicious hoods with Bowie knives and furs on and they were all skinny because they hadn't eaten enough, and they all had funny colored- hair. In a way, it was a precursor to the punk thing."

Dominic lives in a post apocalyptic New York City loosely based in the book 1984.

Eyes: Yellow gold, near canary yellow

Height: 6'4"

Distinguishing marks: Dominic's odd golden eye color is very unusual. Dominic has severe scarring on his body from his treatment while serving the Ministry and has prominent scars on the back of his neck and shoulders from electroshock torture at the hands of the Ministry. Dominic, who was simply a number most of this life, has his designation number tattooed on the inside of his wrist and the back of his neck.

Skills: fire arms, boxing, sniper, overly acute hearing, driving, helicopter pilot, knowledgeable about members of the Ministry, how the Ministry operates, etc., computer skills, ability to blend into Ministry cities and groups, tactics, laboratory medicine, human physiology, fertility, genetic manipulation and engineering, experimental design and modeling. Languages: Ministry Speak, Ministry Newspeak, common English

Benefits from eugenic/breeding program: increased hearing, better pattern identification, increased stamina, better disease resistance, nearly immune to sedatives, faster recall and memorization, photographic memory, increased hand-eye coordination and balance, mild form of empathetic abilities, needs much less sleep, can see in near pitch black (But is sensitive to sudden bright lights)

Personality: Dominic distrusts everyone at this point in his life. He's nervous and on edge around anyone who puts themselves in a place of power. Quick to react and often defensive and secretive he is having a hard time adjusting after his recent liberation from the Ministry.

History: Dominic was part of the first successful, long term breeding program by the Ministry and may have had genetic manipulation performed on him while in utero as well as genetically modified parents, no one is quite sure. His parents were bred for genetics and chosen purposefully by the Ministry. From an early age he was brought up to be in the Ministry Police, but he showed a swift and keen intellect which landed him in a position improving the very project that had led to his birth. Prized for his problem solving abilities, Dominic found himself in the breeding program himself where he fathered dozens of children that were used in later experiments. Most of his generation were bred too intellegent and aggressive for the Ministry's comfort. Most were killed or reprogrammed. Even Dominic was put on medication that subdued his emotions, stubbornness, and, as a side effect, his empathic abilities too. Between brainwashing and threats he complied. He was the last of the project children bred for intelligence. After seeing the resilience of body the breeding program created, the Ministry turned to breeding for soldiers to add to their ranks of enforcers. The Ministry also grew to fear the combination of resillence, strength, and intellegence of Dominic's generation. Due to being in a situation where he had to produce children or face torture or death, Dominic has a lot of sexual hang ups and fears combined with a passiveness about what is done with his body from being subdued into sexual activity regardless of his personal wants or feelings. Despite all of that he can be sexually aggressive due to the expectation that he would breed with anyone in his bed.

Eventually, the Ministry decided that Dominic was no longer useful for breeding or the science lab. He was marked for decommission, either reprogramming or death. Due to his resilience and mental strength Dominic broke free during his reprogramming and tore several people apart with his bare hands before he was subdued. He has little memory of it though others have fear of him from hearing of the incident. He had already spent several months in torture when Damien entered the prison during a raid. The two startled each other because it was like looking into a mirror. Neither of them needed to be told the other was part of the same breeding project. Dominic, however, had started the process of being rewritten. His mind is scrambled between his actual memories and the ones the Ministry was trying to force into his mind.

He's disoriented at times and can't focus well. He will need time to recover. Currently, though Damien had brought him back with him, the Dogs are wary and nervous around him. Damien has decided to keep the older Ministry subject with him until his mind is clearer and the Dogs trust him a bit more. Dominic is going through deprogramming with Martyn. They are focusing on the aggression based brainwashing and weaning Dominic off the emotion subduing medication. Though the brainwashing related to the breeding program is still intacted, Martyn has left it since it isn't exactly dangerous and Dominic has focused on one person who is receptive to his advances.

Dominic was used to being led away from the labs at unexpected points in time. Usually it was for bloodwork, mental testing, or breeding. It made him compliant though everyone around, including Dominic, understood that he could be dangerous. His mind had saved him from the path of being a killer. Dominic followed along to the truck without question but after awhile he recognized that they had been driving longer than they usually did. They were going somewhere new. Dominic was interested in new places because he got bored seeing the same things all the time. Even with the work being interesting all the white walls and isolation had been bothering him recently.

Eventually, the truck opened and Dominic got a brief view of a clear blue sky. He liked to be outside but they were already walking toward another black, windowless building. More and more Dominic wanted to be outside of these buildings. However, it was too late to ask for longer or to slow down. The door was already open and he was led inside.

"5-012-7?"

Dominic looked up because those numbers meant this was a project building where they didn't use his name, or rather the numbers were his names. "Yes."

"Come with us." The person looked official and wore the Ministry garb associated with the Ministry's extensive breeding and programming group. Dominic followed without speaking. "We have a new portion of the project and think you will be perfectly suited for completing it."

Given his current desire to experience something new, the idea of an expansion to the project felt promising. They were leading him to a medical room. Dominic went in and sat on the chair as expected. He knew there were always medical checks on him when he started something new. Part of it was monitoring his brain development, even if he had long since reached maturity. He watched them wiring him up and adding the IV line. Something about this felt familiar even if he had never been to this facility and didn't remember these pre-procedures ever being done together in the past. Still, the feeling nagged at him while he took all the people in. There were at least three different doctors in the room at this point as well as attendants. He didn't exactly think to question it because he trusted the Ministry but he was curious about what the procedure might be.

"Lie back."

Dominic followed the instructions but suddenly felt panic as they strapped down his legs. The doctor was right there and smiled when he spoke. "Don't worry. It is only to ensure you don't roll off the table."

For the first time a tingle of distrust rolled through his mind as his wrists joined his legs in being strapped to the bed. He had never been strapped down this way, at least not since he had his shock therapy long ago for disobedience.

"Project 5-012-7."

Dominic had to struggle to look at the person talking now that he was immobilized on the table.

"Designated Dominic." The voice went on but Dominic couldn't quite see them. "You have been shown guilty of thought crime against the Ministry including desire to leave the assigned building, discontentment with Ministry assignment and others detailed over the past three weeks."

Dominic felt panic. No one had to tell him what this meant when he was strapped down to a table in a medical facility he had somehow never seen.

"You are deemed valuable and will be decommissioned from current project services."

Dominic tried to pull loose and then realized they had strapped him with the safety ones that shocked you when you tugged. He immediately froze. Years of shocks for every minor thing he did out of line didn't allow him to fight back.

"Your personality will be rewritten to suit the new Ministry placement."

In the flurry of panic and fear, Dominic realized why this felt familiar. Just before the first drugs went into his system he remembered. This had happened before. He remembered it and then everything turned to haze as the drugs threatened to pull apart his mind. He knew he was screaming and he grasped on to every thought he could pull to the surface. Shocks or no, Dominic was fighting it this time but who knew if it worked. It rarely worked to fight. Only one other had managed to fight the brain reprogramming and he was the worst enemy to the Ministry. Still in those fading thought Dominic's mind was already trying to figure out how the Ministry's own had beat the mental system. Dominic already knew how he escaped.

Damien hadn't known what to do with Fox when it was time to return to Ziggy's world and his duties to the tour. The Dogs didn't trust him and he was having strange day terrors. The only option left was to bring him along. He called ahead to let Tom know that they would be bringing an extra person along. He guessed Fox was a Dog, or eventually would be once everyone settled. Even Jack was on edge about the newly liberated blonde.

Damien was still on edge from the arguments recently and now he had a jittery, older copy of himself in tow. Still, he had sympathy. He remembered what it was like to just get free from the Ministry and the torture. Who knew how long it would take for someone else to come out the other side. Damien at least had the comfort of knowing he was hated, rejected. This seemed even more cruel, to be dumped aside as useless garbage.

"The people here might scrap and push but none of them will hurt you." Damien reassured the newcomer as they crossed the lot toward the buses. Fox was looking around like a caged animal despite being out in the open.
